Pongal is always a perfect setup for the filmmakers to release their films. The competition is always tough for movie makers during the Pongal season. However, due to the shutdown of theatres in many states with the increase of COVID cases, the makers of RRR and Radhe Shyam decided to postpone the release of their films. This laid the path for many small and medium budgeted films to join the Pongal race.
Three films were released in the Pongal days and they gave tough competition to each other. They are Bangarraju, Rowdy Boys, and Hero. All three films got good applause from the Telugu audience and also did well at the box office.
Bangarraju brought us back the colours of multi starrer with both Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya perfectly setting up the festival mood with wholesome family entertainment.
Rowdy Boys brought many youngsters to the theatres and created positive vibes in both the Telugu states. The film has got a good mark as a youthful romantic entertainer.
Hero provided the audience with wholesome entertainment despite the lead actor being a debutant.
