The much awaited Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie Salute, scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal, got postponed. The actor, who is also producing the film, took to Instagram to announce the difficult decision to postpone Salute’s release, due to a sudden spike in the COVID-19 Omicron virus. No sooner had Dulquer Salmaan shared the latest still from his upcoming film Salute, posing as the cop Aravind Karunakaran, the postponement decision was announced.
The actor wrote, “We at Wayfarer films are bound to show social responsibility ahead of our personal interests. Just like all of you, we were most excited and eagerly awaiting our next release. Owing to recent developments and the spike in Covid-19 and Omicron cases, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the release of “Salute”. We apologise if we’ve disappointed you. But in times like this we must prioritise health and safety. We request everyone to stay safe. We will be back. At the earliest. We thank each and every one of you for your support.”

Dulquer Salman will be seen in a cop uniform for the first time in his latest venture directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The actor himself is producing this prestigious project under his home banner Wayfarer Films. Bollywood actress and Cocktail fame Diana Penty is the female lead and Jakes Bejoy has composed the background score for Salute.
On the other hand, Dulquer Salmaan’s another film Hey Sinamika, starring Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari is slated to be released in theatres on 25 February.
