Kondapolam is based on a highly popular novel with the same name penned by Sannapureddi Venkata Ramireddy and was directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. The movie stars Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. Kondapolam had a theatrical release on October 8th, 2021 and received a hugely popular response for the acting, storyline, cinematography, visuals, and Keeravani’s score.
After a successful theatrical run, Kondapolam now gets an Over The Top (OTT) release and is now available for streaming on popular OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video. Konda Polam is a coming of age story of a young guy named Kataru Ravindra Yadav (Vaisshnav Tej) who hails from a community of shepherds in a small village. Ravindra works in a city but could not help feeling at odds as to whether he belongs to the city or to his village. Owing to his timid nature, Ravindra has a hard time landing a job in a city and is repeatedly turned down by companies. Ravindra is also scared to be in his village which is in close proximity to the Nallamala Forest. Obulamma (Rakul Preet) is no stranger to the ways of the forest and is completely unfazed by the prospects of predators and tigers. Obulamma makes fun of Ravindra for his fear of venturing into the forest until Ravindra decides to learn the ways of the forest. During famines, many shepherds venture into the forest for greener pastures for their livestock. This practice is called Konda Polam.
