Synopsis :
Seetimaarr is a Kabaddi based sports drama starring Macho Star Gopichand and Tamannaah in the lead roles. Directed by Sampath Nandi, Seetmaarr revolves around an ex Kabaddi player who dreams of taking his village girls Kabaddi team to the national championship. How he overcomes all the hurdles and pursues his passion to emerge victorious is what Seetimaarr is about.

“Seetimaarr” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
Karthik (Gopichand) is an Ex National Kabbadi player who works as a recovery manager in a bank located in Atreyapuram. Karthik also acts as a Kabaddi coach for the girls in his village besides his day job at the bank. The girls and Karthi are determined to represent the Andhra Pradesh team in the Junior Kabaddi Nationals. The locals create problems for the girls, Karthik’s admiration for the village and the sport of Kabaddi gives him a singular drive to fight against all odds. Karthik’s determination sees him travelling to Delhi with the girls. The Junior National Kabaddi Championships kick off and the Andhra Pradesh team sees itself progressing to the finals.
Tragedy strikes before the team can even celebrate as Karthik realises the girls have been kidnapped by the same goons who tried to kill his brother in law. In the past, Karthik’s brush with these goons ends with Karthik killing the brother of the leader in order to save his brother in law. In the present, the goons blackmail Karthik by asking him to kill his own brother in law in exchange for the safe return of the girls. Karthik overcomes his problems and later motivates his young team to win the National Kabaddi Championships.
Performances:
Gopichand puts forth a layered performance as Karthik. His screen presence and dialogue delivery is commendable. Tamannaah shines in her role as Jwala Reddy. All the girls playing the kabaddi players did justice to their roles. Rao Ramesh is at his usual best.
Highlights:
The action scenes of Gopichand stand out in the film. The Kabaddi scenes were well choreographed and added to the intensity of the film. Sampath Nandi’s direction is one of the highlights of the film. Manisharma’s background scores are electric and elevate the scenes.
Verdict:
Seetimaarr is not just a sports drama. It is packed with intense action scenes, emotional drama and also highlights the prevailing taboos surrounding women in sports in our present day society.
