“Vivaha Bhojanambu” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
Anitha (Aarjavee) comes from a rich family and wants to marry Mahesh (Satya,) a parsimonious middle class guy. Their wedding takes place amidst the Coronavirus pandemic and pesky relatives. Anitha’s father disapproves of Mahesh, as he is neither good looking nor rich and refuses to call him as son-in-law. Will Anitha’s father accept Mahesh as his son-in-law? What is the secret that Mahesh and Anitha are harbouring? Forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Vivaha Bhojanambu has a colourful cast with the likes of Satya, Aarjavee, Srikanth Iyangar, Sudarshan, Sundeep Kishan and many more. The movie gives them all a chance to excel in their respective roles. Satya shines in his role as the seemingly stingy Mahesh, who just wants to get rid of Anitha’s family. His efforts to do so result in unintended pickles, which Satya effortlessly showcases. Aarajavee is pretty and does what is given to her. Srikanth Iyangar essays the role of Rama Krishna, Anitha’s father. His performance as the doting father of Anitha and a skeptical and humorously suspicious father in law is hilarious. Satya and Srikanth Iyangar share a natural chemistry and make you chuckle whenever they appear together on screen. Sudharshan’s performance as the dedicated friend of Mahesh was impressive. Sundeep Kishan entertains in an extended cameo as Nellore Prabha, a delusional ambulance driver.
Highlights:
The movie is a clean and light hearted comedy which skillfully integrates a good message, all while humorously depicting the lockdown frenzy everyone went through since the Coronavirus pandemic hit us. The late actor and talk show host TNR entertains as Jaya Krishna, and is one of the highlights of the movie. The music track What a man!! adds such a silly and funny tone, throughout the length of the movie. Director Ram Abbaraju gets special props for creating a movie with natural humour and flow, instead of forcefully injected comedy.
Verdict:
Vivaha Bhojanambu is a breezy and hilarious entertainer which bursts your stress, all while giving a subtle message. It is the kind of movie where friends and family can sit together, enjoy the movie with some snacks and tea. Vivaha Bhojanambu is available for streaming on the OTT platform Sony Liv.
