The Baahubali franchise (2015 and 2017) was a path breaking movie phenomenon which changed the cinema game in India. South Indian movies have been limited to the South Indian states predominantly till Baahubali opened doors for the regional talent to shine bright all over the country. The creator of the Baahubali franchise and Tollywood’s ace director S. S. Rajamouli undertook another massive venture titled Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR) starring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles.
Since the inception of this movie, expectations have been sky high. In the latest news, the movie’s satellite and digital rights have been sold at a record deal. Pen Studios announced the digital and satellite partners of RRR. The movie rights have been sold in 10 languages including the Indian languages of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and the foreign languages of English, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish and Spanish. RRR will premiere on digital platforms 70 to 100 days after the theatrical release. Satellite partners include Zee Cinema, Star Maa, Asianet Malayalam, Star Suvarna and Star Vijay. Digital partners are Zee5 and Netflix. Reportedly, this is the biggest deal to be made in the entire Indian film industry.

RRR is a fictional retelling of two of the legendary heroes of India. Ram Charan plays the freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraju, while Jr. NTR plays the revolutionary Komaram Bheem. Alia Bhatt is the leading lady. RRR has an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody. RRR is slated to release in multiple languages on 13th October, ahead of Dussehra.
