We brought some of your favourite celebrities on board for this segment and made them spill the beans about their professional and personal lives. Today’s guest for The Right Hour is the popular anchor and talented actress Anasuya Bharadwaj. She talked about various things ranging from her latest release Thank You Brother to her experience working with the big names of the industry.
- How are you enjoying the success of your movie Thank You Brother?
Everyday, I am doing a livestream and am still responding to the kind words from the audience. Feels really great.
- How was it playing such a different role? Was it difficult playing Priya?
I love what I do. Maybe it was, but I never felt that because I loved every bit of that character. I only chose roles which I absolutely love. I always want to surprise and impress my fans. I would love to be in films which I would like to watch as well.
- You have some major projects in your hands. How do you feel about that?
Thank You Brother was supposed to be released in theatres and we had to adjust with the OTT release. But I am glad that we could entertain people in these tough times. I have a handful of movies in 3 of the South languages including Telugu. I am making my debut in Tamil and Malayalam as well. It feels great, but at the same time I do feel restless. It is a roller coaster of emotions with all of us right now.
- A personal question, you have an image of being an arrogant person. What is your opinion on that?
I am very vocal about my opinions and feelings. I am very human like that. We cannot change what other people think. I am a very gratuitous person. Just because I have a lot of movies in my hand does not mean I have changed. I stay as grounded as I can be. Others decide what you should be. That should not happen. I think very highly of myself, but not in an over confident way. So, I cut away toxic people around me. I think others should not dictate where you stand as a person.
- Can you reveal a bit about your characters in Pushpa and Khiladi movies?
I am going to surprise everyone with my character in Khiladi. I am really fond of the entire team of Khiladi. I love being on the sets of Khiladi, it is like being on a picnic. I hope to surprise people in Pushpa as well. Sukumar sir’s sets are my favourite till now. He challenges you as an actor. I am falling in love with Allu Arjun’s performance in Pushpa.
- Latest news is that you are a part of Acharya. Can you confirm it?
As of now, I am not a part of the movie yet. It is on my bucket list to work with Chiranjeevi garu.
- How would you describe the following actors?
Ram Charan: Down to earth. I must have picked up the groundedness from him.
Sai Dharam Tej: He is one of the nicest people. He along with his brother Vaisshnav Tej are very well behaved and respectful. I want my kids to grow up like that.
Adivi Sesh: My mentor. He gave me the confidence to be more than just a pretty face.
Nagarjuna: Timeless.
Karthikeya: He is very hard working and never forgets his roots.
Allu Arjun: Versatile. He still works like it is his first movie. He is very focused.
Ravi Teja: He is very fit and timeless. Full of energy. I want to be peaceful and chill like him. He is a stress busting person.
- Are you vaccinated yet?
Not yet. My in laws got both the doses. My husband, kids and I were tested positive for Covid 19 in January. Now the vaccine is not available. So, waiting to get vaccinated. There is so much misinformation about vaccination. One thing I can say for sure is that getting vaccinated is paramount.
