Prabhas, the popular star who spellbound the world in the avatar of a warrior for Baahubali (2015,) is back with another pan Indian film titled Adipurush. It is based on the most loved epic drama in Indian mythology, Ramayana. Om Raut, the virtuoso of period dramas in Indian cinema, is crafting Adipurush. He bagged three awards for his masterpieces in Bollywood Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush (2015) and Tanhaji (2020.) In a recent social media interaction, Om Raut shared interesting details about Adipurush.
When asked about the effects of the pandemic on the filming process, Om Raut said “ I’m very particular about testing and it is done often in the sets. We are following strict protocols, wearing masks and sanitizing often. The entire unit is under constant inspection. We have shot for 30 days rigorously and are used to it now (sic.)”
Speaking about the release date during the current situation, Om Raut said “The film schedule is tight and we have completed 30% filming. Though the team is limited, there is a shift in protocol and we are strictly adhered to it (sic.)”
The director Om Raut expressed his confidence in Adipurush and holds high regard in making this majestic film. With the star studded cast, Prabhas in a never seen before role as Lord Rama and the Bollywood Nawab Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, the expectations are sky high. Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh would be essaying the roles of Sita and Lakshman, respectively.

Helmed on a whopping budget of Rs. 350 to 400 crore, Adipurush is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair under T Series. The 3D extravaganza will be shot as a bilingual in Telugu and in Hindi, it will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and several other foreign languages. Adipurush is officially set to hit the theatres on August 11, 2022.
