The pandemic drastically affected the economy of film workers and distributors with the closure of theatres for more than a year. All the prominent persons in the industry are coming together to resolve the losses to the best of their abilities. The Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh, earlier announced some relief measures to the film industry.
With requests from the Telugu film industry, the government of Andhra Pradesh passed a Government Order (G.O.,) yesterday. The G.O., states to waive the power supply charges for single screens and multiplexes from April to June and to differ the charges for July to December, 2020.
As soon as the G.O., was issued, Megastar Chiranjeevi and King Nagarjuna took to their respective Twitter handles and thanked Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his enormous support. Chiranjeevi wrote “My hearty thanks to Hon’ble CM Shri. @ysjagan for the much deserved relief measures for the Film Industry during Covid times. Your sympathetic support will help several thousands of families dependent on this industry (sic.)”
