Wild Dog Telugu Movie Review:
In August of 2007, bombs exploded in two prime locations of Hyderabad. Two bombs were set off in a span of five minutes in Gokul Chat Bhandar and Lumbini Park killing more than 40 people, leaving many more gravely injured. The premise of Wild Dog starts with the depiction of this real life incident and focuses on the aftermath of these attacks. Vijay (Nagarjuna) is a NIA agent who means business. Vijay is called the Wild Dog, for his badass and no nonsense attitude. Vijay and his team embarking on their mission to nab the terrorists behind the attack forms the crux of the movie. Will the Wild Dog be able to catch the terrorist and get them to justice? Watch the movie to find out.
Nagarjuna is undoubtedly the star of this movie. The actor’s body language is apt as a NIA agent. Nagarjuna underwent immense physical training to look the part and his efforts paid off as he embodies the role of a super cop. Sayami Kher shines in her role as a fierce cop. Rest of the Wild Dog team played by Atul Kulkarni, Ali Reza, Mayank Parakh, Pradeep, Prakash Sudarshan do a commendable job. Dia Mirza is decent in her role as the love interest to Nagarjuna’s character.
Technically, the movie excels in several departments. Shaneil Deo gets brownie points for the crisp and clean cinematography and the action directors David Ismalone and Sham Kaushal put forth their best. The action sequences shot in the high altitude regions of the Himalayas are intense and neatly done. Wild Dog is fast paced and does not dwell on unnecessary elements. The ensemble cast of Wild Dog is one of the best aspects of the movie. Additionally, the movie attempts at a relatively underutilized genre in Telugu film industry and special props for the debut director Ahishor Soloman, for this honest attempt.
If quick paced movies with badass cops doing their job, loaded with cool action sequences is your cup of tea, head over to the theatres and catch Wild Dog in action.
