Prabhas was on the spree to sign movies in 2020. Amidst the pandemic and lockdown, the actor signed 4 pan Indian films like Radhe Shyam with Radha Krishna Kumar, #Prabhas21 with Nag Ashwin, Adipurush with Om Raut and Saalar with Prashanth Neel. The actor is currently shooting for his upcoming mythological drama Adipurush, with Director Om Raut and Nag Ashwin sees this as a good opportunity for his upcoming film, #Prabhas21 to reach a wider audience.
Speaking in a recent interview about how it is better for Prabhas to join his sets of #Prabhas21 later, Nag Ashwin said, “Adipurush is based on Ramayana and Prabhas plays Lord Rama in it. A film like that will reach all the corners of the country. I believe after a film like that, Prabhas’ market will rise by at least 30%. I see it as a great opportunity to make a film with him after that. That’s not the reason for the delay though. The film was supposed to resume shooting in March but due to the pandemic and his other commitments, we will only be able to shoot in June or July now (sic.)”
Adipurush is based on one of the most loved epics in Indian mythology, which is the Ramayana. Helmed on the whopping budget of Rs. 350-400 crore, Adipurush is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair under T- Series. The 3D extravaganza will be shot as a bilingual in Telugu and in Hindi, it will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and several other foreign languages. Adipurush is officially set to hit the theatres on August 9, 2022.
#Prabhas21 is touted to be a sci fi drama and will be shot on a big budget and have plenty of visual effects. Deepika Padukone is the leading lady and Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will be playing a pivotal lengthy role in #Prabhas21. Legendary filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao of Aditya 369 fame, was roped in as the mentor of the film.
