Varun Tej, who mesmerised the audience in Gaddalakonda Ganesh as a gangster, will be seen next in a sports drama titled Ghani. He will play the role of a boxer in Ghani and underwent rigorous training by an Olympic champion Boxer, Tony Jeffries, to do justice to the role. After a long postponement due to the COVID-19, the team of Ghani resumed the shoot in January and are currently proceeding with the shoot in Hyderabad. The latest to join the sets of Ghani is popular Tamil and Telugu actor Upendra Rao.
Upendra Rao, who is referred to as the Real Star in the South film industry, joined the sets of the Varun Tej starrer, Ghani. Upendra will appear in an important role in the film. The production house behind Ghani, Renaissance Pictures shared a picture with Upendra and welcomed him on to the sets by presenting him with a flower bouquet.

Upendra was last seen in the 2018 Telugu movie of Allu Arjun’s S/O Satyamurthy. The actor played the role of antagonist and was also nominated by South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) as the Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
Ghani is directed by Kiran Korraparti and has an enviable cast of Jagapati Babu and Suniel Shetty in crucial roles. The film is also a maiden production venture of Sidhu Mudda and Allu Venkatesh, under the Renaissance Pictures banner. The action sequences in Ghani will be choreographed by Larnell Stovall, known for his works in the American Civil War, Captain America and more. Music composer S.S. Thaman is composing the tunes and Marthand Venkatesh is handling the editing of the film.
