Allari Naresh’s upcoming film, Naandhi is based on a story of an innocent man who is jailed for a crime he did not commit and is subjected to torture and abuse by law enforcement officers. Naresh, who is usually known for his comedy roles will be seen in a role which would make him push his boundaries of acting. However, Naresh has proven time and again that he could easily pull off any role other than comedy with movies like Gamyam and Maharshi. Noted actress Varalaxi Sarathkumar who is known for her powerful supporting roles will be appearing in Naandhi as Aadhya, a criminal lawyer.
Varalaxmi is currently the talk of the town for her portrayal of Jayamma in the recently released Ravi Teja starrer Krack. Therefore expectations on Sarathkumar are high for her role in Naandhi. Speaking about her role the actress said “The role of Jayamma in Krack was a big eye-opener for me. It created so much impact that I’ve been getting many more offers from Tollywood. I play the role of a lawyer in Naandhi and I can promise you all that it will be remembered for a long time (sic.)”
A theatrical trailer for Naandhi was recently released by Mahesh Babu which shows Allari Naresh as Surya Prakash being, wrongly accused of a murder by the police. Surya Prakash is then imprisoned and endures police brutality and torture inside the prison.
Based on true incidents, Naandhi is directed by Vijay Kanakamedala and is all set to release in theatres on February 19, 2021.
