New age actress Krithi Shetty is grabbing all the attention in the film industry even before the release of her debut film Uppena. The actress mesmerized the Telugu audience with her cute looks and supremely solid acting from the songs, teaser and trailer of her upcoming film, Uppena. She is paired up opposite Mega hero Panja Vaisshnav Tej in the upcoming Telugu film Uppena, which is directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film will hit the screens on February 12, 2021.
Speaking about how she got an opportunity to work with the team of Uppena, Krithi Shetty said, ”Despite having an interest in acting, I never thought of choosing films as a career. I always wanted to become a doctor. I appeared in some commercials while continuing my studies. Through them, I got an opportunity to play the female lead in Uppena. They saw my photos on social media and contacted me. At first, I did not want to act, as it would be difficult to study. My opinion changed after listening to the story(sic.)”
Speaking about her character in the film, the actress said, ”There were tears when I heard the story narrated by Buchi Babu. After a long time, it is a pure love story coming on the silver screen. It takes place in the 2002 backdrop. I played the role of Bebamma in the film. I worked hard to show spontaneity in the character. Instead of imagining the character created by the director, I acted realistically by imagining what it would be like to encounter such situations (sic.)”

Praising her co actor Vaisshnav Tej, Krithi said, ”Panja Vaisshnav Tej is such a talented actor. He competed with experienced actors and performed very well(sic.)”
Uppena is touted to be a rustic action drama, Panja Vaisshnav Tej will be seen as a fisherman and Krithi Shetty as a college student. Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is the antagonist of the film. Uppena is bankrolled by popular filmmaker Sukumar in association with Mythri Movie Makers, and the music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad
