Ace Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s next magnum opus Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR,) is one of the biggest and highly anticipated movies in the Indian film industry. The film features Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in lead roles, and is also the first time both the spectacular actors will be sharing the same screen space. The magnificent period film will be released all across the world on October 13, ahead of Dussehra. However, while this news has been received with celebration and excitement, producer Boney Kapoor is unhappy with the release date.
The reason for Boney Kapoor’s unhappiness, a producer in both Bollywood and South Indian movie industry is because RRR’s release date coincides with his own movie Maidaan which is slated for release on the same day. Incidentally, Ajay Devgn who is appearing in RRR is the lead actor for the sports based drama Maidaan. Moreover, Boney Kapoor announced the release date for his movie six months ago.

A source said Ajay Devgn asked Rajamouli to speak to Boney Kapoor before announcing the release date for RRR but Rajamouli went ahead without consulting Boney Kapoor. “Of course I am upset! This is most unethical. I announced my release date for Maidaan six months ago. At a time when we should all be coming together to save the movie industry, he (Rajamouli) has gone and done this (sic.)” says Boney Kapoor.
RRR is a fictional retelling of the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two of India’s famous freedom fighters. Ram Charan will be playing the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju while Jr. NTR will be playing the role of Komaram Bheem. The film also boasts some popular actors from different lingual industries such as Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Allison Doody, and Ray Stevenson in pivotal roles.
