While Indians were going about their daily business, something momentous unfolded Down Under. The Indian and Australian cricket teams were engaged in a four match test series as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team was handed out a humiliating defeat in the first test and all the cricket pundits and experts wrote off the current Indian team saying Australians will whitewash the series. Moreover, things became complicated for the Indian team as Viraat Kohli left for India and six senior players were injured during the series. However, what unfolded in the course of the last three weeks was nothing short of a David vs Goliath story!
The Indian team though bruised and battered displayed nerves of steel to pull the carpet from under the feet of the Australian team. The young Indian side pulled off one of the best series wins on Australian soil in the history of Indian cricket. The world paused today as politicians, actors, influential people and the people at large, all collectively praised the series win.
