Pongal 2021 is a special occasion for the Tamil movie industry, as theaters will finally begin screening movies for the first time since the lockdown. This Pongal, Thalapathy Vijay’s Master and Silamabarasan’s Eswaran are the two big movies slated for release in theaters. Actress Keerthy Suresh is no exception to the craze of Thalapathy Vijay considering the actor has many friends in the film industry. Ahead of the theatrical release of Master, Vijay met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswamy and requested him to allow 100% seating occupancy in theaters. Palaniswamy acquiesced to Vijay’s request and passed a government order. However, Palaniswamy had to rescind his orders following notices from the Central Government and the Madras High Court asking the Tamil Nadu Government to adhere to the norms laid down by the Ministry of Health.
On the work front, amid the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Keerthy Suresh had a stellar year with back to back movie releases. She was last seen in the bilingual film Miss India, which had a direct OTT release and received a good response from the audience. She is currently working on her upcoming Telugu film Rang De, co starring Nithiin, directed by Venky Atluri. The actress is also playing the leading lady in Mahesh Babu’s upcoming Telugu film Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Rajinikanth’s Tamil film Annaatthe.
