Nivetha Pethuraj, who delivered a commendable performance in Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, will be seen next in the Ram Pothineni starrer RED. The actress will be playing the leading lady, who essays the role of a police officer. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about RED and her choice of roles
Speaking about her role in the upcoming film, RED, Nivetha Pethuraj said, “My character in RED is going to be remembered for a long time to come. It is a character that will take the narrative forward till the end. Since I have already worked with Kishore Tirumala earlier, it was easy to portray the character as I knew what he wants the character to be like on screen (sic.)”
Nivetha also spoke about the rumours that are doing the rounds about her doing an action sequence in RED. She said, “I have heard so many rumours that I have performed an intense action sequence in the film. But I want to clarify that I haven’t. The role I am playing is vital to the script (sic.)”
With the aim to essay versatile roles, Nivetha said, “I want to be the Vijay Sethupathi of Tollywood. I will play any and every role till it makes sense to me. This year will be quite a busy year for me (sic.)”
RED is an official remake of the Tamil action thriller Thadam. Ram will portray dual roles, who are constantly at loggerheads with each other. RED will also feature Malvika Sharma, Sampath Raj and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. The film was supposed to hit screens in April this year but the release was pushed due to the lockdown. RED is all set to entertain the audience in the theatres, on January 14, on the occasion of Sankranthi, 2021.
