Rana Daggubati will appear as Bandev in the upcoming film Aranya, directed by Prabu Solomon. Rana Daggubati stars as Bandev, a protector of forests, taking on a corporate entity, encroaching on forest lands inhabited by a herd of elephants. The film, which was supposed to be released in movie theaters on April 2nd 2020 finally gets a new release date.
Rana Daggubati took to his social media handles to share the news about a new release date for Aranya. According to Rana’s post, Aranya is slated to be released in theaters on March 26th, 2021. The movie will be released in three languages simultaneously which are Aranya in Telugu, Haathi Mere Saathi in Hindi and Kaadan in Tamil.

A teaser was released showing Rana Daggubati looking rugged as Bandev, a protector of the forests. It can be gleaned from the teaser a corporate entity is trying to get a hold of forest land inhabited by a herd of elephants, angering Bandev. Another video released a little later shows the making of Aranya, in which Rana Dagubati can be seen interacting with elephants in a calm and composed demeanour. Rana Daggubati dedicated himself tirelessly to bring Bandev to life by undergoing a massive physical transformation where he lost more than 30 Kgs for the role.
Aranya also features Shriya Pilgaonkar, Zoya Hussain, Vishnu Vishal and Raghu Babuwho will be appearing in supporting roles for Aranya. The music is composed by Shantanu Moitra and the lyrics for the Telugu version are written by Vanamaali. Aranya is produced and distributed by Eros International.
