The Thalapathy Vijay starrer Master, is one of the biggest and highly anticipated movies from the Tamil movie industry. On Tuesday, the makers of the film announced Master will hit the big screens on January 13, 2021, ahead of the Pongal holidays. As Master and Pongal are big treats to the Tamil audience, Vijay requested the Tamil Nadu Government to allow them to celebrate it with full occupancy in theatres.
At Vijay’s request to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the Government allowed theatres in the state to open with 100 percent seating capacity. Previously, the State Administration opened the movie theatres with 50 percent seating occupancy due to COVID-19 and now the Government has granted permission to release Master in 100 percent seating occupancy.
The State Government issued a statement which said, “The seating capacity of Cinemas/theatres/Multiplexes shall be permitted to increase from existing 0% to 100% by following the Standard Operating Procedure issued already. Further, in order to create awareness among the spectators, the precautionary measures for Covid 19 shall also be screened during the showtime (sic.)”

Master features Malavika Mohanan and Thalapathy Vijay as the lead actors and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the antagonist. The film is produced by Xavier Britto’s XB Film Creators. Master also features Antony Varghese, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Sriman, Sanjeev, Srinath, Ramya Subramanian and Gouri Kishan in pivotal roles. Touted to be a college drama, Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the film. As the film is gearing up for the Pongal release, the trailer of Master is expected to release very soon.
