Rajinikanth’s upcoming star studded film Annaatthe is one of the most awaited and anticipated films in Tamil and Telugu. The team of Annaatthe was shooting in Hyderabad from December 15th, halted the shoot due to multiple members of the crew testing positive for COVID-19 on the film set.
Annaatthe was supposed to wrap up its shoot in April but, due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus, the production work had to be stopped. After much postponement, the team of Annaatthe resumed the shoot from December 15 and just after one week of the shoot, the team halted the shoot as 4 members of the technical crew tested positive for the Coronavirus. The team was shooting at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad and the schedule was supposed to be for 45 days. However, the shoot has been postponed temporarily due to a Coronavirus outbreak on the sets.
Last week, Rajinikanth accompanied by his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush, took a chartered flight to Hyderabad to begin the shooting schedule of Annaatthe. As the shooting has been halted, the superstar is expected to return to Chennai. The makers issued a statement saying Rajinikanth tested negative for Coronavirus and is perfectly safe.

Annaatthe is directed by Siruthai Siva and many actors including Khushbu, Nayanthara, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj and Soori are part of the film. D. Imman has been roped in to compose music for the project. With 40% of the shooting remaining, the makers are planning to complete the film early next year, as they might release it by Summer 2021.
