Acharya is a highly anticipated upcoming film which will star Chiranjeevi Konidela, in the lead role under the direction of Koratala Siva. The movie was steadily progressing with its shooting schedule before COVID-19 and the ensuing lockdown put a stick in the production plans by halting it completely. But once the lockdown lifted, the schedule was back on track with the main cast and supporting cast returning to the sets.
Sonu Sood will be playing the antagonist in Acharya and the actor was recently in Hyderabad for a shooting schedule. While making an appearance at an event, Sonu Sood shared an anecdote from the sets of Acharya. While shooting for a scene which required Chiranjeevi to hit Sonu Sood for a fight sequence, the Megastar confessed how he was having trouble shooting for the scene. Sood told how Chiranjeevi said the public will not take to the scenes kindly considering the huge humanitarian work Sood did during the COVID-19 lockdown thereby, making him a messiah for the masses.

A viral video emerged recently from the sets of Acharya when Sonu Sood made an appearance on the sets. Fans, who were aware of his schedule on sets, flocked to meet Sonu Sood en masse. As a large number of his fans approached the caravan, he came out and greeted all of them.
Acharya is directed by Koratala Siva and is bankrolled jointly by Ram Charan’s Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. While Mani Sharma has been roped in to compose the music, Regina Cassandra will sizzle on the dance floor with Chiranjeevi on a special number. The shooting of Acharya came to a halt in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, which was also forced to postpone the release. Acharya was supposed to release on August 14, 2020, but will now release during the Sankranthi season in 2021.
