Actor and filmmaker Adivi Sesh will be next seen in the upcoming bilingual film, Major, which will be released in Telugu and Hindi. Adivi Sesh is playing the role of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who lost his life in the horrific Mumbai attacks on 26/11/2008. After creating waves across platforms with the mighty impressive look test, team Major is all set with the first look of the film.
On the occasion of Vijay Diwas and Adivi Sesh’s birthday, December 17, the makers of the film, Mahesh Babu unveiled the first look of Adivi Sesh as a 26/11 martyr, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The first look shows Adivi Sesh looking fiercely and focusing his eyes on the point of the gun with the battlefield in the background. Mahesh Babu also conveyed his birthday wishes to the Major actor Adivi Sesh, he wrote, “Happy to present the first look of #Major!! Wishing you a very happy birthday @AdiviSesh. I’m sure Major will go down as one of your best performances. Good luck and happiness always! (sic.)”

Speaking about the film and his role, Adivi Sesh said, “When we were attending the 10-year memorial event of 26/11 in Mumbai in 2018, I saw a banner that was dedicated to Major Unnikrishnan, which we have replicated in the film, too. It struck me then that the character we were developing on paper was real. The incident was real, and so was the ultimate sacrifice. These things make you more vigilant towards a bigger responsibility to not only play the part correctly, but to also not lose focus on what you set out to do. The 26/11 incident forms a highlight of the narrative, but the idea is to show the world the kind of person he was as a son, a friend, a colleague and a soldier (sic.)”
Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and features Sobhita Dhulipala as the leading lady. Major traces the journey of the late army officer Sandeep Unnikrishnan and celebrates the life of the brave officer. The film depicts scenes that capture the spirit of the way he lived, not just the way he died. Major is jointly produced by Mahesh Babu, Sony Pictures India and A+S Movies. This movie will also mark the debut of Mahesh Babu as a producer with his banner GMB Entertainments. Major recently wrapped up 70% of the shoot and is slated to release in Summer 2021.
