After Chiranjeevi’s 152nd film Acharya, the Megastar will be acting next in the Telugu remake of the critically popular Malayalam movie, Lucifer. Ram Charan bagged the Telugu remake rights of the film and will be bankrolling it. The Telugu remake of Lucifer is right around the corner with Chiranjeevi in the lead role and several speculations arose about the director of the film. After names like Sujeeth and V.V. Vinayak were considered, the Telugu remake of Lucifer will be officially helmed by Director Mohan Raja.
Initially, Saaho Director Sujeeth, was roped in to helm the Telugu remake of Lucifer but due to his marriage proceedings, he was replaced by director V.V. Vinayak. Now, it is officially announced Chiranjeevi’s 153rd film, which is the Telugu remake of Lucifer, will be directed by Mohan Raja. Announcing the news on social media, the director shared a picture he took with Chiranjeevi and wrote, “With the blessings of my parents and well wishers, life has always gifted me better and bigger things. And this time I’m more elated n honored to direct a mega project with the Megastar @KChiruTweets himself. Need all your wishes n prayers #Chiru153 (sic.)”

Filmmaker Mohan Raja is known for directing many remakes over the years. He is known for helming films such as Jayam, Hanuman Junction, M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, Santosh Subramaniam and Thani Oruvan, over the years. With the Telugu remake of Lucifer, Raja will mark his return to Telugu cinema after nearly two decades.
The Telugu remake of Lucifer will be bankrolled jointly by Ram Charan and N.V. Prasad under Konidela Productions and NVR Cinema. The film will go on the floor after Sankranthi 2021.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is currently busy shooting for his upcoming Telugu film, Acharya, in which he is rumoured to be playing dual roles. Acharya is being directed by Koratala Siva. Kajal Aggarwal is the leading lady in the film. While Mani Sharma has been roped in to compose the music, Regina Cassandra will sizzle on the dance floor with Chiranjeevi on a special number.
