Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently working on his next project with Siva Koratala, titled Acharya. Shooting for Acharya has resumed after the lockdown and director Koratala Siva has opened up about shooting for it in the new normal and about Ram Charan’s role.
Speaking about the film in a recent interview, Koratala said, “We are all excited to be back on sets after a long break. Shooting the film in the new normal feels different and in a way, it’s good to shoot in such a protected environment. We took our time to get used to the COVID-19 guidelines and with Chiranjeevi on sets, the energy is never down (sic.)”

Speaking about how working with the Megastar is a memorable experience, he said, “We all know that he is a star but when you work with him you find out why he’s so loved. The man is clear about every shot and scene, he has an amazing memory. It’s very easy to work with such dedicated and passionate people as the output is great (sic.)”
It is always said that Ram Charan will be playing a cameo role in the film, however, the director has something else to say. Clarifying that Ram Charan’s role isn’t just a cameo, Koratala Siva said, “Acharya will be a treat for all Mega fans as Ram Charan plays a pivotal role in the film. It’s the opportunity for a lifetime for me to direct both the father and son in a single frame (sic.)”
Acharya has completed about 50% of the shoot and the makers are planning to complete the film by the year end to ensure a festival release. Acharya was supposed to release on August 14, 2020, but has been pushed to Sankranthi, 2021. Kajal Aggarwal will play the lead actress in this film and Regina Cassandra will shake the leg on a special song. Acharya is produced by Ram Charan and Anvesh Reddy under Konidela Productions and Matinee Entertainments banners, respectively.
