Weekly Recap November 21-28: Here’s What Happened In Tollywood This Week

Another week has passed and we have seen big movies being announced, celebrities happy about resuming work and celebrities being affected by the COVID-19 virus.  The movie industry waits for no one as it is a constantly moving wheel which makes and breaks dreams.  While the amount of news about events happening in Tollywood can be mind boggling, as it is hard to separate truth from rumour, we at Telugu Filmnagar will make your life fun and easy with all the Tollywood recaps.  We bring to you on every Saturday a summary of the important news which occurred this week.

Here are the important news items for this week.

1) Bellamkonda Sreenivas To Debut In Bollywood With Chatrapathi Hindi Remake

Rajamouli directorial Chatrapathi, was one of the biggest blockbusters when it released in 2005.  Chatrapathi  is finally getting a Hindi remake and will star Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the lead role.  The official announcement for the project came yesterday and noted director V.V. Vinayak will be directing the Hindi remake.  It is also interesting to note V.V. Vinayak also directed Bellamkonda Sreenivas debut movie in Tollywood which is Alludu Seenu.

2) Prakash Raj Joins In The Aadhi Pinisetty Starrer Clap

Aadhi Pinisetty is one of the talented actors of Tamil and Telugu cinema and his filmography speaks volumes about it.  He is one such actor, who gives content more importance than screen time and some of his brilliant performances in movies are Ninnu Kori, Rangasthalam and U-Turn.  He is currently working on another unique script, which is touted to be a sports drama titled Clap.  The latest to join in this sports drama is Prakash Raj and will feature in an important role in the film.

3) Mohan Babu Starrer Son Of India To Begin A New Shooting Schedule In Hyderabad

Mohan Babu is a veteran in the Telugu film industry and has a career spanning more than four decades.  After a wide range of appreciation for his role in Suriya’s Aaakasam Nee Haddura, Mohan Babu will be next seen playing a lead role in the patriotic film Son Of India.  he team of Son Of India is all set to begin another schedule in Hyderabad. Major portions of the film with lead actors will be shot in this Hyderabad shooting schedule. 

4) KGF Chapter 2: Yash Resumes Final Schedule of Shooting In Hyderabad

KGF Chapter 2 is one of India’s most awaited movies of the year along with Rajamouli’s RRR.  The movie is a sequel to the massive blockbuster KGF Chapter 1 and the movies follow the life of the gangster Rocky Bhai which is being played by Yash.  According to reports Yash is in Hyderabad to wrap up shooting for the final shooting schedule which is taking place in Ramoji Film City.  There are some crucial action sequences which are left to be shot with Sanjay Dutt.

5) Gopichand And Tamannaah Starrer Seetimaarr Resumes Shooting

Director Sampath Nandi is currently helming the sports drama Seetimaarr starring Gopichand and Tamannaah Bhatia.  Now after 8 months of long Coronavirus break, the team of Seetimaarr has resumed shooting with new normal on November 23, Monday.  According to the latest announcement from the makers, the shooting of the film has resumed on November 23 and will be wrapped up in a single schedule. 

6) #Sharwa30 : Shooting Wrapped Up For Sharwanand Starrer Bilingual Film

Sharwanand was back to work after eight months when he resumed work for the movie projects he signed.  He resumed work on his upcoming untitled bilingual film, Telugu and Tamil, directed by Shree Karthick, known for award-winning shorts like Vyugam and Childhood Diaries.  The final shooting schedule for #Sharwa30 took place in Chennai and it looks like the team has finally called it wraps on the shooting.  Ritu Varma will be playing the leading lady alongside Sharwanand.

7) Vishnu Manchu And director Sreenu Vaitla’s Dhee Sequel Announced; Titled D And D

After much anticipation and rumours, Vishnu Manchu took to Twitter and officially announced the sequel of the superhit 2007 film Dhee.  The film will be directed by Sreenu Vaitla.  On the account of Vishnu Manchu’s birthday, a new poster and title of the sequel has been unveiled.  With a red background, the Dhee sequel is titled D And D with the tagline Double Dose.  

8) Prabhu Deva Married To A Doctor Himani During The Lockdown

Actor and Choreographer Prabhu Deva has been in the news for his wedding rumours. Seems like the rumours are true, as Prabhu Deva’s brother Raju Sundaram confirmed his wedding.  Raju Sundaram confirmed in an interview that Prabhu Deva is married to a Mumbai-based doctor earlier this year.  He got married to a doctor named Himani in May during the lockdown.  Prabhu Deva’s wedding reportedly took place in Chennai in the presence of his family due to the lockdown rules.
