The Indian Movie industry lost one of its greatest artists S.P. Balasubramanyam, who succumbed to post COVID-19 complications in Chennai. SPB’s demise saw an outpouring of grief from all corners of the country. While the government is doing everything to recognise the great personality, Andhra Pradesh Government has done a great honour to SP Balasubrahmanyam as a contribution to the entertainment industry.
As SPB was born and brought up in Nellore, the Andhra Pradesh government has named a music and dance school at Nellore after legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. The school will be renamed Dr. SP Balasubrahmanyam Government School of Music & Dance.
The Minister for Industries, Commerce and Information Technology, took to Twitter to announce the same. He wrote, “Recognising the legendary singer #SPBalu, our Govt has decided to rename the Government School of Music & Dance in Nellore as “Dr. S P Balasubramanyam Government School of Music & Dance (sic).”
SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son SP Charan thanked the Andhra Government and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for honouring his dad. Charan wrote, “Great full to the #APgov and @ysjagan garu for this honour (sic).”

S.P. Balasubramaniam lost his life after a long fight with COVID-19. S.P. Balasubramaniam was admitted to the MGM Hospital in Chennai on August 5th when he tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. However, the legendary singer lost his life due to a cardiorespiratory arrest.
