Thirteen years ago Sreenu Vaitla and Vishnu Manchu came together to make a movie titled Dhee which was an absolute laughter riot. Dhee starred Vishnu Manchu and Genelia D’ Souza in the lead roles while the late Sri Hari and Brahmanandam appeared in supporting roles along with a lot of other supporting cast. Dhee went on to become a massive hit with the audiences and fans have been asking for a sequel. Therefore when Vishnu Manchu and Sreenu Vaitla announced D and D, there has been widespread speculation about the movie being a sequel to Dhee.
Sreenu Vaitla has decided to clarify the news about D and D being a sequel to Dhee. Sreenu Vaitla said a sequel is not possible because Sri Hari who was an integral part of Dhee is no more and Genelia D Souza has moved to Mumbai after her marriage and has quit acting. D and D was announced yesterday on social media and has received a positive response from the audience.
D And D will mark the collaboration of Sreenu Vaitla and Vishnu Manchu after 13 years. The sequel is jointly bankrolled by Vishnu Manchu’s own production house Avaram Bhakta Manchu and 24 Frames Factory. Gopi Mohan and Kishore Gopu will co-write the script, wherein Mahati Swara Sagar scores the music and Peter Hein choreographs stunts.
Sreenu Vaitla and Vishnu will be looking to recreate the same magic they created with Dhee for D and D.
