Pan Indian project Adipurush starring Prabhas under the direction of Bollywood director Om Raut is the most anticipated film of the Indian film industry. On Thursday morning, Prabhas yet again took the Internet by storm by announcing the release date of this big-budget film.
The biggest Indian 3D film, based on the epic mythology Ramayana will hit the worldwide theatres on August 8th, 2022. Prabhas shared this big announcement on his social media by sharing the poster of the film and wrote, “#Adipurush in Theatres 11.08.2022 (sic.)” Reportedly, the film is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on floors in January, 2021.

Adipurush is an adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana which revolves around the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is also addressed as Adi Purusha. Prabhas is slated to play the role of Lord Ram. Bollywood Nawab Saif Ali Khan has been confirmed to lock horns with Prabhas in Adipurush. He will be playing the antagonist’s role of Lankesh, who is said to be the most intelligent demon. Although there are many rumours of Lakshmana, Shiva and Sita roles, nothing has been officially confirmed as of now. It is to be awaited for more details about the cast and crew.

Adipurush is the biggest Indian film to release in theatres post-Covid-19. It will have a lot of VFX work involved and techniques never seen before in Indian films. Helmed on the whopping budget of Rs 350-400 crore, Adipurush is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair under T- Series.
