S.P Balasubrahmanyam is one of the greatest singers to have ever lived in this generation. The legendary singer has sung more than 14000 songs in more than five languages. Balasubrahmanyam who was fondly called as SPB by his fans and peers, lost his life due to a cardio respiratory arrest which was the result of post COVID-19 complications. SPB was in the hospital for treatment after he was diagnosed COVID-19 positive.
As part of today’s throwback Thursday, we give you this video where SPB can be seen getting visibly angry and upset about rumours on legendary playback singer Janaki which said the singer passed away. The rumour had gained a lot of traction on social media and people started flooding SPB with messages of condolences. S.P. Balasubrahmanyam is considered one of the greatest playback singers and has crooned over 40,000 songs in languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam in a career span of five decades. He garnered six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for his works in four different languages and is also a proud recipient of the highest civilian award like the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan, from the Government of India. The government of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have requested the Bharat Ratna to be bestowed posthumously on Balasubrahmanyam.
