Daggubati Venkatesh starrer Narappa is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Asuran, which starred Dhanush. The Tamil version is a superhit intense movie with some gritty and rustic acting performances. Narappa is one of the most awaited films for the movie buffs. Today, the team of Narappa has resumed shoot post a 7-month long coronavirus stall.
The team has resumed the shoot in Hyderabad by taking necessary precautions. On this occasion, Producers Suresh Babu, Kalaippuli S. Thanu said, “We started the shoot of ‘Naarappa’ at Paaltur village in Uravakonda at Anantapur District and shot key action sequence at Kurumalai and in Therikaadu Red Desert near Thirichendur in Tamil Nadu. The shoot has been stalled in the wake of Corona Pandemic and we have resumed the shoot recently at Hyderabad taking all precautionary measures. We are currently filming crucial scenes and climax involving Priyamani, Rao Ramesh, Rajeev Kanakala, and other principal casts. With this ongoing schedule, 80% of the shoot will be completed. By completing the remaining flashback sequences, we will bring the film to the audience very soon (sic.)”

The Telugu remake will see Venkatesh reprise the role Dhanush played in the original, Narappa an ageing farmer. While Priyamani plays the role of his wife Sundaramma in the film. The film has completed 60 days of its shoot at a rapid pace before the lockdown was issued in March and now remaining portions are being shot. The Telugu remake is directed by Srikanth Addala and is bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu and Daggubati Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh Productions. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Karthik Rathnam, Murali Sharma and Sampath Raj in crucial roles. The film will have music composed by Mani Sharma, while Shyam K Naidu is cranking the camera.
