Pawan Kalyan is an actor and Politician and has a huge fan base all over the Telugu states. Recently, the actor lashed out at the naysayers who stated that Tollywood actors don’t donate enough.
The actor lashed out at the naysayers saying why only people from the film fraternity are expected to donate money whenever there’s a natural disaster. He said in a video, “It’s not something frivolous to donate money from our hard earnings. Imagine donating rupees ten lakhs from your own personal account, it’s truly not easy. I have donated money multiple times by now and yet many say that movie stars don’t donate enough or worse never donate in the first place (sic.)”
He added that despite the risk of losing money in a fraternity such as a film industry, actors continue to do their bit. “The film industry is already struggling in the pandemic due to losing profits. Every time a film runs into losses, it is very hard for the people involved to recover. So, it is totally unfair to generalise and make such statements. We have become such a soft target to be criticised whenever something happens. There are many industrialists, businessmen, and politicians who earn enough and yet, they’re never questioned for not donating in time of need (sic.)”
