Weekly Recap October 10-16 : Here's What Happened In Tollywood This Week

Another week has passed and we have seen big movies being announced, celebrities happy about resuming work and celebrities being affected by the COVID-19 virus.  The movie industry waits for no one as it is a constantly moving wheel which makes and breaks dreams.  While the amount of news about events happening in Tollywood can be mind boggling, as it is hard to separate truth from rumour, we at Telugu Filmnagar will make your life fun and easy with all the Tollywood recaps.  We bring you every Saturday a summary of the important news which occurred this week.

Here are the important news items for this week.

1) KGF Chapter 2: Sanjay Dutt is all geared up to resume shooting

Sanjay Dutt has been in the news lately for his health concerns as the actor was diagnosed with lung cancer and has been undergoing treatment in Mumbai.  However, Sanjay Dutt and the fans of Baba are sure that he will beat cancer out and come out with happy smiles.  Sanjay Dutt took to his Twitter to post a few pictures to let his fans know he is gearing up for the shooting of KGF as Adheera.

2) Venkatesh lends his voice for Mosagallu

Vishnu Manchu will next be seen in Mosagallu, which is an international Telugu crossover movie directed by Jeffrey Gee Chin.  This film also stars Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role. Vishnu Manchu and Kajal Aggarwal will appear in a never seen before pairing for Mosagallu and will play the roles of siblings.  In the latest update, the filmmakers have signed on Venkatesh Daggubati to be a part of Mosagallu as a voice actor. 

3) Check: Nithiin resumes shooting schedule 

Nithiin is an actor, who is well known for his versatile acting and has consistently managed to reinvent his craft over the years.  It is well known that Nithiin is collaborating with Chandrasekhar Yeleti for an upcoming film titled as Check.  A new schedule for Check was announced and Nithiin took to Twitter to share a new poster which shows Nithiin inside a lockup which looks like a holding cell.  The picture also shows Nithiin dressed in a simple shirt and trouser while wearing a satchel. 

4) 800: Vijay Sethupathi is a spitting image of Muttiah Muralitharan

Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up for another interesting film, which is the biopic of cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan titled 800.  The makers of the film have unveiled the first look of Vijay Sethupathi with a short teaser from the biopic.  The actor is a spitting image of Muralitharan.

5) Krack : Makers offer a small glimpse of Ravi Teja in action 

Ravi Teja will once again be seen in a police avatar for his upcoming film Krack, as the lead actor. The movie is being directed by Gopichand Malineni, and the Gopichand-Ravi Teja combo previously gave us hit movies like Don Seenu and BalupuKrack will star Ravi Teja, Shruthi Haasan, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani.  Krack resumed its final schedule with complete safety protocols at Ramoji Film City.  The filmmakers behind Krack have released a new video showing the return of the crew and cast to the sets of the movie.  The video shows what all safety measures are in place and gives a glimpse into the set life bustling with activity.  The makers also included a small snippet of Ravi Teja in a scene to playon the curiosity of the viewers.

6) Radhe Shyam: Pooja Hegde gets introduced as Prerana 

Radhe Shyam is one of the most anticipated movies in India as it has Prabhas in the lead role, along with Pooja Hegde.  Helmed by Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam promises to be a blockbuster.  The makers behind the Prabhas-Pooja Hegde starrer are once again back with a new update and this time it is a brand new poster of Pooja Hegde.  The new poster is revealed on social media and it introduces us to Pooja Hegde’s character and name in Radhe Shyam

7) Dhanush resumes shooting; bows down in front of the camera 

Tamil superstar Dhanush is one of the most talented in the film industry and is known as an actor par excellence, who can portray any character to the dot.  He flagged off the post COVID work by resuming the shoot today and in style.  As Dhanush has completed shooting for his upcoming Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram, he is reportedly said to resume the shoot of his upcoming Bollywood movie Atrangi re. Dhanush took to his Instagram handle and shared a back to work picture.  He can be seen bowing down to the camera with his eyes closed.

8) Aditi Rao Hydari to play the leading lady in Maha Samudram

Filmmaker Ajay Bhupathi of RX 100 fame is currently busy with his next project titled Maha Samudram.  Ajay won multiple accolades for his direction in RX 100, a low budget movie which became a super hit.  Maha Samudram also marks Siddharth’s return to Tollywood and stars Sharwanand as one of the main leads.  The filmmakers behind Maha Samudram have announced Aditi Rao Hydari as the leading lady of the film.  Aditi Rao Hydari, who is one of the talented actresses of the film industry, will be playing a crucial role as the lead actress in the star-studded cast.
