Makers Postpone The Shoot Of Annaatthe For Rajinikanth’s Safety

Rajinikanth’s upcoming star-studded film Annaatthe is one of the most awaited and anticipated films in Tamil and Telugu.  The film was supposed to wrap up the shoot in April but due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus, the production work had to be stopped.  While many filmmakers are resuming their project in the unlock phase, Annaatthe makers are in no hurry as they do not want to risk Thalaviar’s health.

Talking to a leading daily, a source close to the film said, “Around 40 days of shoot remains.  The idea was to complete the film by year-end to get it ready for a summer release.  However, days before getting back to work, producer Kalanithi Maran has called off the shoot keeping Rajinikanth’s safety in mind (sic.)”

The source further added, “The South film industry is still shocked by the untimely demise of singer SP Balasubrahmanyam and doesn’t want to risk the life of any actor who’s in the vulnerable age bracket, as cases are on the rise.  A lot of money has already been invested on the set, but the producer is willing to take the financial hit (sic.)” It is to be noted that late singer SBP’s last song was sung for Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe.

Keerthy Suresh, who is playing a lead role in the film, also said the same. “The shoot of the film is pending.  I don’t think I can talk about much about it right now because there’s a long way to go.  So, let’s talk about this a little later(sic.)”
