Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up for another interesting film, which is the biopic of cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan titled 800. The makers of the film have unveiled the first look of Vijay Sethupathi with a short teaser from the biopic. The actor is a spitting image of Muralitharan and it is quite amazing how Vijay Sethupathi managed to achieve the look.
However, the makers of 800 found themselves in a bit of a pickle when Tamilians from India and Sri Lanka got upset about the movie. Dar Media, the production house behind 800 put out a press release saying the movie is purely a sports biopic about the legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. Moreover, the movie depicts the roots of Muralitharan who hails from a Tamil migrant community in Sri Lanka.

The first look of Vijay from the biopic shows him in the white T20 outfit. From his hair to smile, Vijay looks an uncanny mirror image of the cricketer. The teaser shows the animated version of Muttiah’s life in Sri Lanka. From wanting to play cricket to all the violence he had to face right since his childhood, the film will delve deep into what made him one of the best bowlers in the cricketing world.
The biopic is going to be directed by M.S. Sripathy. Muttiah Muralitharan is a legendary bowler from Sri Lanka and is the first-ever cricketer to take 800 wickets in the test match format. Muttiah is known for the smile he always has during the match and his unique bowling action, which was a nightmare for batsmen all over the world. The shoot will start at the beginning of 2021 and is set to release at the end of 2021. The biopic will be shot in various locations from Sri Lanka to Australia. The film will be released in Tamil and dubbed in other Indian languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Bengali.
