The biopic of late Telugu Superstar Sobhan Babu is on cards and there have been many speculations around it. According to the latest reports, a popular filmmaker has initiated the talks and acquired the official rights from Sobhan Babu’s family members. Reportedly, in the biopic, Rana Daggubati is likely to reprise the late actor.
Rana Daggubati was approached for the titular role in the film and is also said to have loved the script and showed keen interest to be part of Sobhan Babu’s biopic, suggest reports. However, there is no official confirmation about it. If everything goes by perfectly, rumours are rife that an official announcement is expected soon.
Sobhan Babu ruled the showbiz world as a matinee idol for more than thirty five years. He made his debut with a film titled Daiva Balam, which was released in 1959. Sobhan Babu has appeared in National Award winning works such as Seetharama Kalyanam, Mahamantri Timmarasu, Lava Kusa, Nartanasala and more. He acted in more than 200 films and worked with leading filmmakers like Adurthi Subbarao, N.T. Rama Rao, E.V.V. Satyanarayana, K. Raghavendra Rao and many others. The actor passed away at the age of 71 due to a heart attack.
Rana Daggubati, meanwhile, will be next seen in Aranya where he will be seen playing Bandev who protects forests from illegal land poachers. Rana will also be seen in another upcoming movie Virata Parvam, which stars Sai Pallavi and Priyamani. Virata Parvam is directed by Venu Udugulla and said to be based on Naxalism which was prevalent in Andhra Pradesh during the 1990s.
