Actor Tarun is one of the popular Tollywood actors from the early 2000s, with a streak of movies that went on to become blockbusters. Tarun began his career as a child artist and managed to impress critics and audiences alike with his stellar performances. Tarun won a National Award for Best Child Artist, for his performance in the 1990 Mani Ratnam movie Anjali. Today, 20 years ago, Tarun made his debut as the protagonist with Nuvve Kavali, co-starring Richa Pallod. The film went on to become the biggest box office success and garnered a cult following among the Telugu audience.

Nuvve Kavali tells the story of Childhood friends Tarun and Madhu who do not realise when their close bond of friendship culminates into love. After growing up, they find it difficult to express their feelings. The film was later remade into Hindi as Tujhe Meri Kasam and it featured real-life couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza in lead roles.
