The iconic historic drama Rani Rudhramadevi, which starred Anushka Shetty as the unsung warrior queen of the Kakatiya dynasty marks 5 years today. On October 9th, 2015, this big-budget film directed by Gunasekhar was released and struck right among the Telugu audiences for powerful characters, songs and action sequences. The 3D film also starred Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles.
Today, on the mark of 5 years of Rudharamadevi, lady Superstar Anushka Shetty, who played the titular role, went down the memory lane and got nostalgic about the film. Rana played the crucial role of Chalukya Veerabhadra in Rudhramadevi while Allu Arjun stole the show as the enigmatic and rebellious Gona Ganna Reddy. Megastar Chiranjeevi lent his voice for the movie and dubbed for many characters in the big-budget film.
Meanwhile, Gunasekhar is working on another historic period drama titled Hiranyakashyapa for the last four years. Starring Rana Daggubati in the titular role, the Telugu-Hindi bilingual features an ensemble star cast and several technicians from Hollywood are expected to work for the project.
Anushka Shetty’s recent film Nishabdham was released on October 2nd on the OTT platform, Amazon Prime Videos and has received a good response. The film features Anushka Shetty as a mute artist and Madhavan as a cello player in the lead roles.
