Ram Pothineni will be next seen in the upcoming film RED, which is directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film features Amritha Aiyer and Nivetha Pethuraj as his co-stars with Hebah Patel in a special number called Dinchak. After 6 months of Coronavirus break, Ram is back to work as he recently completed dubbing for the film.
According to the buzz in the industry, RED might well be the first major movie to release in movie theaters. According to the latest guidelines from the Central Government, movie theaters will finally be allowed to open but only with a 50% capacity on October 15th. The lockdown which began in March has left movie theaters closed for more than six months and many producers had to take the OTT route to release their movies. The makers of RED are contemplating releasing the movie in November during Diwali season. The feasibility of business also needs to be checked since only 50% seating capacity is allowed currently.

The producer, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, said in an interview that, “I don’t believe in giving a film to OTT, it doesn’t match with my idea of filmmaking. Our kind of commercial cinema demands a collective experience. We’re willing to wait it out with RED no matter how long it takes (sic.)”
The film is an official remake of the Tamil action thriller Thadam and reportedly, Ram will be seen in a dual role, that of a corporate guy and a thief who looks alike. RED will also feature Malvika Sharma, Amritha Aiyer, Sampath Raj and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. This film was supposed to release on April 9, 2020, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
