Popular filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, who is known for blockbuster films like Badri, Pokiri, Chirutha and more, recently made shocking statements about marriage in his podcast, Puri Musings.
The director said in his podcast that if you are passionate about your work, then you shouldn’t get married. Puri Jagannadh, who is a follower of Osho, said in his podcast, “If you want to keep learning, if you want to travel the world, avoid marriage. If you want to indulge in watching TV serials with your spouse, drench in the rain with your family and such silly activities, please opt for marriage (sic.)”
He added, “Geniuses don’t marry. No religion says marriage is wrong. If any religion were to say it, it would go out of existence. Organized religion sees marriage as a business opportunity, as priests earn money by solemnizing weddings. If your father forces you to get married, ask him to walk the talk and get married before yourself. Married actresses don’t have a value in society (sic.)”
On the work front, Puri Jagannadh is currently working on a pan Indian film titled Fighter starring Bollywood diva Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda. The film is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh under Puri Connects and by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy will be seen in pivotal roles, the first schedule of the multilingual film got wrapped up in Mumbai before the lockdown.
