One of the best Telugu films of 2019, Jersey, starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath as lead actors, and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri was released in April. This film received a positive response from all over the nation and became a huge blockbuster. Now, Jersey is also being remade into Hindi with Gowtam Tinnanuri wielding the megaphone yet again. Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur will play the lead roles in the Hindi remake.
Speaking to a leading daily, about the Hindi remake of his film Jersey, Nani said, “The fact that my films are being remade itself is a compliment that they like my work. Somebody is remaking that (because) they loved it, and when it comes to ‘Jersey’, I am so glad that a story so beautiful will be narrated to a bigger audience (sic.)”
He also reacted to Shahid Kapoor reprising the role and said, “When somebody like Shahid is doing it in Hindi so I am sure it will be reaching a bigger audience (sic.)”
Nani also spoke about Gowtam directing in Hindi too and said, “They might not know that it is a remake of a Telugu film or they might not know me, but they will watch ‘Jersey’ and they will witness the story Gowtam (Tinnanuri.) That makes me super happy (sic.)”
This film is about a cricketer who makes into the Indian cricket team after all the struggles to fulfill his son’s wish for a Jersey as a gift.
