Nithiin announced a slew of exciting projects, which made his fans very happy and also raised the curiosity in the critics and movie buffs with his selection. After Rang De with Venky Atluri, the actor will move to his next project, which is the Telugu remake of Bollywood blockbuster film Andhadhun. The film has always been in the news about who will reprise Tabu’s role in the Telugu remake. Several names popped up, from Ramya Krishna to Nayanthara for this role, yet there is no clarity who would reprise in the Telugu remake.
With many names, Shriya Saran’s name was also constantly in news for this role in the Telugu remake. However, finally, the actress finally broke her silence about it and confirmed in an interview that she has been approached for the role. Speaking to a leading daily about the same, Shriya said, “Yes, I was approached for the role and there were some talks that took place too but nothing has been finalised yet. Shootings have been halted, theatres are shut and we don’t know when things will get back on track. Also, I live in Barcelona and I’ll need to fly down to India if shooting were to resume. So there are a lot of logistics yet to be worked out (sic.)”She further said, “However, if it does happen, it’ll be a privilege to step into Tabu’s character. I’ve watched all her films and I find her work inspiring. Having said that, I’ll try to bring my own flavour to the character rather than try and imitate her. If I do end up doing the film, I hope to do justice to the character (sic.)”

The Nithiin starrer Andhadhun will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. This Telugu remake will be presented by Tagore Madhu and will be bankrolled under Nithiin’s home banner Sreshth movies. The shooting will be shot extensively in Pondicherry.
