Acharya Plagiarism: Makers Of This Chiranjeevi Starrer Release Offical Statement

The Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya is one of the most anticipated films of Tollywood.  Ever since the first look of the film was unveiled on Chiranjeevi’s birthday, the film landed in trouble.  Acharya has been in the limelight for two days because a writer Rajesh has alleged that the story of Acharya is lifted from a story he narrated to Mythri Movie Makers.

Resting all the rumours to end, the makers of the film, Matinee Entertainments, released an official statement regarding the plagiarism of the story.  The note says, “We wish to inform everyone that Acharya is an original story written and conceptualized by Koratala Siva alone.  Any claims that the said story is a copy is baseless (sic.)”

Acharya is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Ram Charan and Anvesh Reddy under the Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment banners respectively.  It is also believed Acharya is a political action thriller in which Chiranjeevi will be seen starting a movement against the endowments department regarding the misappropriation of temple funds.

The shooting schedule of Acharya was progressing at a brisk pace and filmmakers were able to complete almost 40% of the movie shooting.  Kajal Aggarwal will be seen as the leading lady and Ram Charan will appear in an extended cameo in the film.
