1) Although Ravi Teja is the stage name which the actor goes by, Ravi Teja’s actual name is Ravi Shankar Raju Bhupathiraju.
2) Ravi Teja made his acting debut in a Kannada movie titled Abhimanyu in 1990, which was directed by Ravi Raja Pinnisetty. However, Ravi Teja’s appearance was not given any credit.
3) Ravi Teja and well known director Y.V.S. Chowdary were roommates and good friends when both of them were starting out in the movie industry. Y.V.S. Chowdary even gifted a Shirdi Sai Babu bracelet to Ravi Teja to celebrate their friendship.
4) While Ravi Teja loves to act, he loves dancing even more. Ravi Teja used to watch movies of Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda, while growing up and used to dance to their songs.
5) While Ravi Teja made multiple appearances as a character artist and consequently moving on to lead acting roles, he was yet to find mainstream success. However, Ravi Teja got a second break in the movie industry with the Puri Jagannadh directorial Itlu Sravani Subramaniam. 7) Ravi Teja is an avid fan of Ram Gopal Varma and they first met in RGV’s office to audition for a role in Kshana Kshanam. Ravi Teja did not make the cut for the audition since he was still an unknown face in the industry. However, RGV and Ravi Teja collaborated much later after Ravi Teja earned the moniker Mass Maharaja for the movies Shock and Dongala Muta.
8) One of Ravi Teja’s biggest acting breaks came in the form of Sindhooram when he was 29 years old. Ravi Teja’s acting won critical acclaim from many movie reviewers.
9) Ravi Teja said if he ever gets the opportunity to do a multistarrer movie, it should be with the Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Ravi Teja said this two years ago and the reason for this is because Ravi Teja absolutely loves Pawan Kalyan’s on screen mannerisms.
10) Ravi Teja’s father is a pharmacist and his mother is a homemaker. Ravi Teja did his schooling in Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi and Bhopal because his father had to move to Bombay for work. Owing to his upbringing, Ravi Teja is able to speak fluent Hindi.
