Mohan Babu is a veteran in the Telugu film industry and has a career spanning more than four decades. Over the years, Mohan Babu has essayed a wide range of roles in his movies and has even played the role of the antagonist in movies. Mohan Babu is equally adept at playing the protagonist as well with case in point being Pedarayudu, which is one of the best movies of Tollywood. The veteran actor is slated to star in a new movie titled Son Of India.
In a post which took everyone by surprise on the Indian Independence Day, Mohan Babu announced he will be starring in Son Of India. The post was accompanied by a first look poster which shows an angry Mohan Babu against a background which shows the Indian map with its neighbouring countries. The title and the poster design along with the timing of the title reveal indicate Son Of India to be based on the theme of nationalism with a strong message.

Son Of India will be directed by Diamond Ratnababu and is being produced by Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures and 24 Frames Factory, both of which are co owned by Mohan Babu. The details of the rest of the cast and other technical details will be released in the future.
Mohan Babu was last seen in Gayathri and his high voltage performance in a dual role is reviewed by the critics as the major highlight of the movie. Mohan Babu also made a brief cameo appearance in the National Award winning movie Mahanati in which he played the role of the legendary S.V. Ranga Rao.
