#GreenIndiaChallenge was an initiative which was begun by the Member of Parliament (MP) Mr. Santosh Kumar Joginpally. People taking up the challenge are required to plant a sapling and nurture it till it grows into a plant or a tree. Mr. Santosh Kumar began this challenge three years ago and has been urging Tollywood celebrities every year to take up the activity. Mahesh Babu took up the challenge and planted sapling in his garden, on his birthday and challenged Thalapathy Vijay to take up the challenge.
Vijay responded immediately by taking up the challenge and planting a sapling in his garden. Moreover he dedicated the act to Mahesh Babu and wished for a greener and healthier India. Vijay posted pictures of him planting the sapling on Twitter to which Mahesh Babu responded with a message of thanks.

The #GreenIndiaChallenge was kicked off by Prabhas this year and not soon after that, the challenge spread like wildfire with a large number of Tollywood celebrities taking up the challenge. Some of the celebrities who have taken up the challenge are Brahmanandam, Sharwanand, Samantha Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna.
On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay is waiting for the release of the most anticipated film Master. This film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and features Malavika Mohanan, Vijay Sethupathi and Andreah Jeremiah in the lead roles. Master was slated to hit the screens on April 9, 2020, but was pushed due to the Coronavirus crisis. Reportedly, the film would now release on Diwali 2020.
