The tragic demise of Sushanth Singh Rajput opened a can of worms with the country vocally calling out nepotism and favouritism in the movie industry. Many people believe Sushanth’s suicide was a result of him being ostracised by the Bollywood biggies which led to his mental health deteriorating. Many actors and actresses have faced the brunt of trolls on social media platforms.
Making a place in the film industry is not an easy task and from Tollywood to Bollywood, Rakul Preet Singh has made a niche for herself as one of the most popular and glamorous actresses of the film industry. Rakul Preet Singh finally opens up about nepotism and favouritism and gives her take on these topics. “I just feel that it’s not about inside-outsider or industry and non-industry (sic,)” Rakul said, further adding that people have their own journey no matter which industry they are in, be it entertainment, medicine or the corporate industry. Moreover, Rakul also said “At the end of the day, if you are talking about our industry, I feel it’s talent that survives, it’s the audiences that decide your fate whether you are liked or not liked. Yes, sometimes you might get an opportunity sooner than later, but I don’t think that decides your fate (sic.)” Rakul herself made it big in the movie industry without any connections to the film industry.
On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh was last seen with Suriya in the Tamil film NGK. She will be next seen opposite Sivakarthikeyan in the Tamil science fiction drama, Ayalaan. The actress will also be working in a Telugu untitled film opposite Nithiin and in another Tamil film titled, Indian 2, with Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal.
