Here are the important news items for this week.
1) Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao’s wife Paruchuri Vijayalakshmi passes away
Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao is a prominent writer and actor in Tollywood. He is a part of the writer duo Paruchuri Brothers, along with his brother Paruchuri Gopala Krishna. According to reports, Vijayalakshmi had been ill for quite some time and passed away due to a heart attack.
2) Rakul Preet Singh clocks 15 million followers on Instagram
Rakul Preet Singh is very active on social media, from workout videos to family pictures, Rakul’s Instagram is a mini album of her life. The actress marked yet another milestone on the photo sharing platform, Instagram, by reaching 15 million followers. To express her gratitude to her Instafam, Rakul Preet Singh made a video, where she shared her special moment with a favourite photo of celebs whom she stalks and the most embarrassing moment on Instagram Live.
3) Singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam tests positive for COVID-19
Legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam tested positive for COVID-19 with ‘very mild symptoms’ and has been advised a 15 day quarantine at home. However, the singer decided to be admitted to the hospital by not taking any chances.
4) Sharwanand’s next with Sri Venkateswara Cinemas announced
Production house Sri Venkateshwara Cinemas announced a new movie which will star Sharwanand as the lead actor, on their social media handles. Narayan Das K. Narang and Puskur Ram M. Rao will be producing the untitled movie. Sri Venkateshwara Cinemas is a unit of the Asian Group, which owns multiplexes in Hyderabad.

5) Rana Daggubati-Miheeka Bajaj wedding at Ramanaidu Studios with just 30 members
The Daggubati and Bajaj families revealed the wedding will take place at Ramanaidu Studios with limited and close family members. Suresh Babu, popular producer and father of Rana said, “There will not be more than 30 people present at the wedding. We want to limit the guest list to just family and we haven’t invited even some of our closest friends, within and outside the film industry. The reality is that Covid-19 cases continue to rise and we don’t want our celebrations to risk anybody’s health, so I want to set the right example. The ceremony will be small but beautiful (sic.)”
6) Director Teja Tests positive for COVID-19
Teja had recently gone to Mumbai and upon his return to Hyderabad, he developed mild symptoms for the COVID-19 virus. The director did not waste any time and got himself tested along with his family members, following which his test results were declared positive for the COVID-19 virus. However, his family members tested negative for the virus. Teja has quarantined himself at his home and has begun treatment for the COVID-19 virus.
7) Saaho director Sujeeth ties the knot with Pravallika Reddy
Sujeeth got engaged to Pravallika Reddy, a dentist by profession on June 10th, 2020. The couple formally got engaged at a private ceremony limited to close family members, while following all the social distancing norms laid down by the government. Sujeeth tied the knot with Pravallika at a private and intimate ceremony which took place at the Golkonda Resorts, Hyderabad. Sujeeth is however yet to make a formal announcement about the wedding ceremony but pictures of the couple from the wedding are doing the rounds on social media.
8) Nikhil Siddharth next film announced
Nikhil Siddharth is on a spree of happiness both, personally and professionally. He has back to back releases for the year. The actor announced his next film, which is being referred to as Nikhil 20. The production house of Nikhil 20, Asian Cinemas banner took to social media to announce the collaboration of this untitled project.
