Vijay Deverakonda Calls For Citizens To Donate Plasma

India is seeing a surge in COVID-19 positive cases as the virus shows no signs of spreading and also due to the increased testing being done all over the country.  Although the number of positive cases are increasing, the number of recoveries in India have crossed 10 lakhs, which is a positive sign.  While there is no vaccine in sight for COVID-19 virus, convalescent plasma therapy is being adopted to help COVID-19 patients to recover.  The serum of COVID-19 cured individuals will have virus neutralising antibodies which will act as a passive antibody therapy.

Tollywood’s Vijay Deverakonda urged citizens to donate their plasma and save lives.  Vijay attended an event organized by Cyberabad Police on Friday to felicitate ‘Plasma Yodhas.’  Speaking at the event, Vijay said “ People should be aware of the importance of plasma donation in the current situation. I request all the recovered persons to come forward and support (sic.)”  Vijay also said Cyberabad Police is being applauded for their gesture of help on social media.  Cyberabad Police in association with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council felicitated a total of 126 Plasma Yodhas who donated plasma to 200 persons post their recovery from Covid-19.
