Popular veteran actor Raavi Kondala Rao passed away at the age of 88 due to cardiac arrest. The actor took his last breath while undergoing the treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening.
Born in Samarlakota, Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh in 1931, Kondala Rao made his big screen debut in 1958 with Sobha. He gained popularity among the Telugu audience for his performance in the Krishna starrer Tene Manasulu in 1965.
Raavi Kondala Rao acted in more than 400 films. Some of his notable films as an actor were Pelli Pusthakam, Dasara Bullodu, Edurinti Mogudu Pakkinti Pellam, King, Radha Gopalam and Varudu among others. Kondala Rao, who was also a writer, penned dialogues for popular films like Bhairava Dweepam, Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Brundavanam.

Raavi Kondala Rao was also a journalist and author. He worked as an associate editor for the popular Telugu film magazine Vijaya Chitra from 1966 to 1990. Later, as an executive writer and producer, he joined Chandamama – Vijaya Productions.
